Vendor Management API enhancements

We've released enhancements to the Felix API, including performance improvements to the Vendor endpoints and new options managing External IDs:

1. Faster vendor listing, plus a new "fields" parameter
   We have made performance improvements to the List all vendors endpoint. Felix Enterprise customers with a large number of vendors should see noticeably faster response times.
   
   We have also added a new optional fields query parameter to both the List all vendors and Retrieve a vendor endpoints. This lets your integration request only the specific fields it needs, rather than the full vendor object, resulting in smaller, faster responses.
   
   By default, both endpoints still return all fields, so no changes are required on your end unless you want to take advantage of this.
   
   
2. Support for multiple External IDs of the same type
   Felix's External ID feature lets you record the identifier that a connected system, such as an ERP, uses for a Vendor, with one External ID Type per connected system. This can be managed manually in the Felix application or, optionally, through the Felix API, where they are referred to as "External References."
   
   Previously, each Vendor could only have one External ID per Type. To support more advanced configurations, we have now enabled multiple External IDs of the same Type to be created on a single Vendor through the API.

• The Create a reference endpoint has a new optional mode parameter. The existing upsert behaviour of this endpoint is unchanged, but setting mode to "create" allows multiple External IDs of the same Type to be added to a Vendor.
• A new Update a reference endpoint has been added. This allows integrations to target and update a specific External ID directly. This is necessary once a Vendor has more than one External ID of a given Type, as you can no longer rely on the upsert behaviour of the Create a reference endpoint

 

Things to know:

• Multiple External IDs of the same Type can currently only be created via the API, not through manual entry in the Felix platform.
• Each Vendor can have a maximum of 50 External IDs in total across all Types by default. If your use case requires more than this, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to discuss further.

Create RFx directly from a procurement schedule or project

Available for: Procurement Schedule and Sourcing (RFx experience)

The sourcing Quick Form / RFx experience has previously only been accessible from the RFQ Listing page. For teams that rely on procurement schedules or project workflows, this is limiting – particularly for teams where the quicker RFx experience is the default.  

You can now create a Quick Form (RFx) sourcing event directly from both the Procurement Schedule and within a Project. 

Existing RFx users will note a change to the experience from prior. We now present just two options in a modal - "Quick Form (RFx experience)" and "Classic RFQ" - and no longer redirect you to a template selector page. RFx events will offer you all the features (e.g. quote requirements) for you to optionally include or exclude. 

Finally, we have also introduced the ability to optionally import project documents to an RFx event, mirroring the functionality from the Classic RFQ experience.
