What is SAML?

Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an open standard for passing information between an authorisation provider and a service. In plain English, this allows a single user to use the same log in credentials from a provider to log into multiple websites.

SAML facilitates the ability for organisation users to log in using Single Sign-On (SSO) to the Felix portal. This provides greater security and control when authenticating users, and the ability to restrict users from logging in through the use of verified domains and provider-driven authentication groups.

Technical Glossary

Name	Description
Entity ID	The URL where the identity provider receives authentication requests from Felix. The SP Entity ID is sometimes also known as the Audience URL.
SSO URL	The URL which users should be redirected to when logging in. The SSO URL is sometimes also known as SP Assertion Consumer Service URL.
Public x509 Certificate	Certificate containing the public key used to verify authentication requests with your identity provider.
